Bluebird Badge
If you’ve got a 910 Bluebird you’ll notice that the emblem in the
middle
of the steering wheel is going all horrible and knackered. I’m not
quite
sure why the plastic goes all brown and cloudy, but there’s a trick you
can do. If you’re careful, it is possible to pry the edge of the badge
up slightly, and with your fingernail or perhaps a blunt knife,
separate
the clear plastic coating from the badge, which should ping off. You’re
left with a lovely new looking aluminium emblem.
Laurel /Cedric Arch
F10 wheel arches have almost same profile as 230 and C130, only the
diameter is wrong. But it's easier to repair with an F10-arch than
trying
to use sheet metal...

Twin Carbs solenoid
“I just saved myself £50 odd by not having to buy a new carb
solenoid for my twin carb A10. As the solenoid was sticking shut when
engine
was cold, a squirt of WD40 down one of the vacuum pipes after pulling
off
the rubber hose appears to have done the trick” ..... Andrew

Lethargic Laurel
“My C230 has recently begun to suffer from what I think may be
fuel
starvation. This is happening at low revs in all gears and
usually
results in the car cutting out when I come to a stop. I think
I've
read somewhere that there are two fuel filters, one under the rear seat
and I'm not sure where the other is.” -Rob Goodson
This is the opposite of what happens when the filters get
blocked. There
will be enough fuel for the engine to run ok at low revs but not when
under
load or hi revs. Sounds more like a cut-off solenoid problem, check the
electrical circuit to the solenoid (on the side of the carb) make sure
the solenoid clicks when you switch on the ignition. Another cause
could
be that you have a blocked jet. How is the level
in the float chamber? If it’s at or above the etched line in the glass,
the fuel is getting through ok, so strip and clean the carb, especially
the primary jet located underneath the front of the carb, behind a
blanking
plug that you have to unbolt with a 12mm spanner.
One last thing to check is that the corriguated white air tube from
the exhaust manifold is intact and not creased, otherwise ice will form
in the carburettor in cold weather causing all sorts of bad running,
especially
not idling.
430 Wipers
Wipers can be annoying with their parking system: if you want just
one wipe, it gives you two (the 2nd to park). But if you change the
motor
wire connector to the loose blue one taped in the wire loom, it gives
you
a normal action!

This is the same on 300Cs, the idea is that it’s for winter use.
The
wipers don’t disappear under the bonnet line, so you can get to them to
de-ice them in winter - WL
WIRING DIAGRAMS for Silvia S12 CA18ET engine!!
You will need this for installing the CA18ET in another type of
vehicle.
I have deleted non engnie related parts of this to simplify it .
Tip! Right Click on any of these three pics and "open in new window"
to see them larger
I have also scanned the huge foldout page from the unfeasibly expensive service manual.
Its an 800Kb GIF file of all the scans pasted together! Download this image here
